Piedmont Lacrosse Alum Nick Green Feature Story


Former player, Nick Green, has fought hard through some hard times on and off the field.  Here is a great feature story on how he has taken over his uncle's restuarant after he had tragically passed away.

  • What made you choose Piedmont?  "I come from a pretty small town and I liked the small town vibe that piedmont gave." 
  • What do you hope to do after graduation?  "Move out west and just live. Work and ski and just have a blast." 
  • If you could spend the day with anyone who would it be and why?  "My mom. Easily one of the strongest and smartest people I know. She's my best friend. No lie." 
  • Who is your favorite music artist?  "It changes pretty frequently but right now it's probably Quinn. He's a pretty low profile white rapper who has some really nice,smooth beats and a steady flow." 
  • What is your favorite movie?  "Hands down "The Guardian." Kevin Costner and Ashton kutcher rescue diving. What more can you ask for."

American Red Cross Blood Drive


The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at the Mize Center on October 28th, from 12:30pm-5:30pm.  To make an appointment visit www.RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-Red-Cross.  Be sure to eat healthy foods and drink water before giving blood. Photo I.D. is required to give blood.  You can help save a life with this simple act, so spread the word and donate.

  • What do you like to do in your free time? "Hike with my gf, playing madden and FIFA with my friends and most importantly… cooking!"
  • What are your goals for the season? "My goals for the season are to contribute not only in the goal scoring column, but to give help to the younger guys on the team by setting them up for good shots. The more shots they get, the more comfortable they will be taking the reins when my senior class leaves."
  • Do you have any pregame rituals? "Freshman and sophomore year I would listen to Eminem's Not Afraid, Til I Collapse and Lose Yourself on repeat while I focused in on what the game plan was for that day's opponent."
  • What made you choose Piedmont? "I felt as though Piedmont was the right choice because I really liked how much attention we would receive from our professors in the small classes.  Also, I enjoyed the small school atmosphere like I had while growing up."
  • What do you hope to do after graduation? "After graduation, I hope to get a job with the local professional lacrosse teams that are now here in Georiga. But if that was to fall through then I would rely on attending culinary school in order to follow my passion."
  • If you could spend the day with anyone who would it be and why? "I would want to spend the day with Emeril Lagasse because I grew up watching him cook on Food Network with my mom.  It would bring back so many childhood memories… BAM!"

Learning Center


Anyone that needs tutoring, internship guidance, capstone assistance, or just a quiet place to study should go to the learning center. It is located in the old student center next to the library.  If you want tutoring, simply go to the Piedmont website and under student resources click on the learning center.  Then select the subject you need tutoring in and pick a time.  The learning center is here for your benefit, so use it as much as possible.

Wall Ball


Every player should be hitting the wall at least three times a week.  Stick skills are essential to becoming a better player and ultimately a better team.  Be sure to use both hands on anything you do, and have fun with it!

Team shows support for Mens Soccer


The team came out to support the Mens Soccer team as they took on Oglethorpe at home Tuesday night.  The Mens Lacrosse team is proud of their school, and cheers on fellow students at any home sporting event. We believe that every team works hard and deserves to have support from other teams on campus.  Best of luck to the Mens Soccer team with the rest of their season!!

  • What do you like to do in your free time? "I usually just like to hang out with my friends, throw the ball around a little bit.  I love to watch football. Football is the thing I love to watch the most."
  • What are your goals for the season? "Some of the goals for the season, just like any other sport I have played, is to just get better every single week that we have in our season.  Just that after every game we left it all out on the field as a team and that we got better."
  • Do you have any pregame rituals? "I mean before the game I try to keep to myself.  I don't talk to a lot of people, and I kinda get into my zone and try and focus on what I have to do.  I just kinda go through what I am expected to do in the game."
  • What made you choose Piedmont? "I originally choose Piedmont honestly just because of the environment and I like the area that I was going to. Especially since it was a big change for me going from Jacksonville all the way up to Demorest, Georgia, but I really learned to like it. I think I made a really good choice."
  • What do you hope to do after graduation? "I am actually looking forward to moving to Destin, Florida.  Hopefully I will be working there as a general manager for a few small businesses."
  • If you could spend the day with anyone who would it be and why? "I would probably spend another day with my great grandfather who just recently passed away.  Just because I just loved spending time with him and all the things he taught me and I would really want another day with him."
  • Who is your favorite music artist? "Of Monsters and Men."
  • What is your favorite movie? "Division III Football's Finest."

Ignite Student Ministry Kick-Off


Piedmont's student ministry group "Ignite" had its kick-off event tonight at the Arendale Amphitheater. There was live music, games, and free food.  They will be meeting every Wednesday at 7 in Jenkins hall.  Everybody is encouraged to come out and attend.  Meetings will be more than just your average bible study.  There will be games, light discussions, sporting events and much more!

Lion's Pride 5k Color Run


Piedmont College will be hosting a 5k color run on Saturday, September 19th right here on campus.  If you would like to participate, go to myPC5krun.com and register. Students with an ID only cost $10 and everyone else will cost $20 if you register by September 16th.  If you wait until after that, students will pay $15 and the general public will pay $25.  If you don't wish to run but still want to support the cause, you can sponsor a runner or donate.  Proceeds will benefit Grace Gate Inc., which is a non-profit clinic serving Habersham County.  It is recommended that you wear white clothing. So come on out to have some fun, exercise, and raise money for a great cause!!

Study Hall


All freshmen and anyone who has below a 3.0 GPA are required to attend study hall. Study hall will meet Monday-Thursday, at 4 pm at the top of the library.  Make sure to show up 10 minutes early and sign in.
